Make the Changes You've Been Promising Yourself
Dr. Flowers offers personal consultations on
various aspects of emotional competence for both small groups and
individuals. Dr. Flowers' consultations are usually face-to-face
sessions in which she focuses her attention on the client's issues,
listening carefully to the details to analyze the dynamics of the
issues. She and the client then, work through the issues
collaboratively, to develop pragmatic management strategies or
resolutions.
Her
personal consultations have helped clients address issues such as
conflict resolution or rapprochement in a family, uncertainty about
a career move or parenting situation, finding a life balance, and
seeking a second opinion or evaluation about the appropriateness of
psychotherapy.

Dr. Flowers’
Approach
Dr. Flowers uses a practical, client-centered
approach to make the consultation process clear and engaging. She
assesses the issues involved and in everyday language,
systematically discusses with clients various approaches they might
take for resolution. Dr. Flowers helps design the final strategies
to make the most of the individual personality and strengths of each
client.
She also uses these specific situations to assist
clients to anticipate the future management of their personal
development. By increasing their overall understanding of how the
feeling, thinking and action steps work together to resolve the
current situation, clients develop the tools to resolve similar
situations that may arise in their lives.
Dr. Flowers sometimes uses dreams to expedite the
consultation process and the client’s personal development.
